EnergyPlus Example File Generator's web-based forms allow users to enter general information about buildings they want to model. The application then automatically creates a complete EnergyPlus input file, runs an annual simulation, and then emails users the EnergyPlus input, output, DXF and other files along with an annual summary of the energy results.

This directory provides information on building software tools for evaluating energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability in buildings. The energy tools listed in this directory include databases, spreadsheets, component and systems analyses, and whole-building energy performance simulation programs.
OpenStudio SystemOutliner demonstrates using objects and methods exposed by the OpenStudio API to graphically edit mechanical systems, which has been a challenging task for EnergyPlus users.
OpenStudio ModelEditor provides a GUI for model object browsing and definition.
This YouTube channel contains tutorial videos for OpenStudio.
Online tutorials and session handouts for AIA members on Google Sketch up for energy analysis using EnergyPlus.
The High Performance Buildings Database
Conceptual design tool focused on making whole-building tradeoffs during early design phases for buildings that are less than 10,000 ft2 floor area, or buildings which can be treated as one or two-zone increments. Performs whole-building energy analysis for 8760 hours/year, including dynamic thermal and daylighting calculations. Specifically designed to facilitate the evaluation of energy-efficient building features in the very early stages of the design process.
