The 110,000-seat Stadium Australia was the main venue for the Sydney 2000 Olympics. The stadium hosted the Summer Games' opening and closing ceremonies along with the track and field programs for the Olympics and Paralympics. After the Olympics, it was transformed into Sydney's premier open-air stadium. The project was designed by LOBB, which has since merged with HOK to form HOK + LOBB, and a local Australian firm, Bligh Voller Nield.
Currently named ANZ Stadium due to corporate sponsorship.
